The business has passed
through four generations:-
from Matthew to Fred − dubbed the "Fighting Cobbler"
by local historian Ron Brown −
from Fred to John, and to John's sons Bern and Freddie Mills.
Fred was a popular chap in
Gosport, not only
for his skills
in the shoe trade but also for his
sporting prowess as a boxer . . .
